Float Trips in Northern/northeastern Oklahoma?

I’m looking to go on a float trip in Oklahoma this summer. We always go to southern Missouri, up the Niangua, but we thought we’d try something newer (and closer to Kansas) this year. Anyone know of any good spots?

I’m looking for a campground that allows tent camping, outdoor fires, and alcohol to be consumed. Also, I’d like the float trip to be around 6-9 miles, in canoes, with alcohol also allowed.

Price would need to be around $5-15 per person, per night, with the canoe rental being around $25-35 per day.

If you ever have floated up the Niangua River near Bennett Springs, MO through one of the outfitters there, like Red Beard, Ho-Humm, NRO, etc., you’ll know what I’m looking for. I want the exact same thing, only in Oklahoma.

I’ve not been on the trips you have…most people in Oklahoma float the Illinois near Tahlequah. Here is a link to some of the resorts http://www.shopoklahoma.com/illinoir.htm

I’ve gone with War Eagle, Eagle Bluff and Arrowhead. Honestly, I can’t remember one being any better than the others it’s all the same trip with all the same services. You can camp and have fires, everything you requested.

The floating is just a huge party. You’ll see families but there is a lot of alcohol on that river. Everybody interacts with one another if you are there on the weekend or any busy time. Water guns and various toys help in this interaction. You can pull off all along the way and have lunch, swim, you’ll see rope swings and other additions to the lake that people have created for added enjoyment.

I grew up in Tulsa and it was a past time we looked forward to every summer. For the most part it is relaxing and not treacherous although the river can get rough usually near the beginning of the season. The resorts will let you know how it is before you go out.

That link will also show you other places in Oklahoma, I’m just not familiar with them.
