Ski your Cares Away in Bartlett

There are many attractive ski destinations to choose from when the urge to hit the snow comes upon you and your family, but sometimes, for whatever reason, it makes sense to stick to the East Coast. New Hampshire has a surprising array of options, as skiing is actually the official state sport. For a good taste of all that is offered in the White Mountains region, which includes winter sports and year-round activities of all kind, take a look at Bartlett.

Bartlett is located on Attitash Mountain amidst a wonderland of wintertime delights, as Mount Washington Valley and North Conway are known for being ideal vacation settings. Many cozy towns dot this area and are equipped with shops, restaurants, recreation facilities, and much more. Bartlett is one of the shining stars, however, so focus your energy here if you’d like an experience worth remembering and repeating.

This region of the state might look familiar when you first arrive because it has been commonly captured by artists looking to create pleasant scenes of country bliss and natural beauty. Quaint covered bridges, folksy towns, and rolling hills that give way to the magnificent mountains will quickly boost your mood and make you feel a million miles away from your previous responsibilities. Enjoy the setting and get ready to immerse yourself in these painting-worthy pictures.

As you speed down the slopes via skis or snowboard or as you traverse a flatter stretch of frosty land on snowshoes or snowmobile, you’ll remember why winter vacations are so much fun. Not only are you getting back in touch with Mother Nature, you’re also burning off a few calories without an ounce of boredom and spending an exhilarating day alongside the ones you love. Finish it off with a cup of cider and a session of roasting your toes in front of the fireplace and it’ll feel like life is pretty good.

Not that the only time to come here is the winter; Bartlett is lovely during all seasons and is just as packed with things to do before or after snow season. Autumn reveals the kind of colorful explosions that foliage-watchers dream about, and the crisp-but-not-yet-cold weather is perfect for hiking and strolling through the town in search of antiques and unique souvenirs. It’s also good cuddling weather, so bring your honey along and catch up on some quality snuggle time.

White Mountain National Forest makes a fine venue for warm weather pursuits that will ignite your senses with the sights and sounds of the earth and sky. Hike and bike on the web of paths the weave in and out of the ancient forests and rugged terrain. Hop aboard a canoe or squeeze into a kayak for a river or lake adventure, and be sure to note the healthy glow that exists in the cheeks of your companions. Several facilities are available that will rent out equipment and provide basic instructions for all the weekend warrior types, so rest assured that you’ll be well-prepared for a good time.

After working up an appetite, be sure to visit a café or tavern for a one-of-a-kind meal. In addition to local theatre, dinner shows and special events, Irish pubs, jazz brunches and après-ski during the winters all add magnetism to the area and will round out your Bartlett experience.

Another way to add dimension to this trip is to reserve a vacation rental. There are many to choose from in this region, and their unique amenities, convenience to the slopes and capacity for privacy make them intriguing options. Chalets, condos, ski lodges and town homes are abundant and often offer special deals and off-season rates, so consider forgoing the traditional hotel experience in favor of something new and different.

Between your willingness to leave it all behind and the Bartlett Vacation Rental that awaits you, your upcoming trip to the mountains of New Hampshire is sure to go smoothly. Start preparing today, mentally and logistically, and be ready for a fabulous time.

The pristine beaches with abundant sunshine are filled with endless excitement. With little traffic, the family friendly beaches are surrounded by activities including miniature golf, playgrounds and arcades. By the days end, everyone is sure to leave the beach sun kissed and your camera will be filled with amusing photos to add to your family photo album.

Emerald Isle is known as the Crystal Coast for a reason, so make sure to spend plenty of time exploring the refreshing turquoise water which is generally ten degrees warmer than the Outer Banks region. If you prefer to stay dry, a chartered boat tour will provide you with a knowledgeable captain who can take you to the best fishing locations for you to bring in the catch of the day of yellowfin tuna, sailfish, grouper, amberjack, or barracuda.

With so many fun filled adventures, everyone will have a thriving appetite. Dine at one of several local restaurants all stocked with the freshest seafood caught by the local fisherman. And if the kids haven’t quite developed a palate for the local bounty, be assured there are several other kid friendly menu options. Try an evening dinner at an open aired restaurant where you can enjoy the spectacular sunset.

Known as one of the best golf courses in the area, make sure to pack your clubs to enjoy a day at Brandywine Bay Golf and Country Club. The pro shop and snack bar are sure to provide you all the gear you could need and yummy snacks to keep you energy going throughout the day. This course also caters to the family with its practice bunkers and junior programs. Canoe rental at boat launch on Des Plaines?

Is there any place to rent a canoe at a boat launch on the Des Plaines somewhere between Dempster and Chicago Ave? I don’t want to have to drive all the way up to Vernon Hills. Thanks in advance!
Hmm I can’t find anything on either of those places on Google or Bing. Any other ideas?

I have been to a few kayak and conoe rentals betwwn those two place. I forget where they are, but they are called:
-Mountain Creek Boat Rentals
-Jim’s canoes and Boats

try to google these places. they are both on des plaines

Edit: I’m Sorry you couldn’t find those places. Maybe they just didn’t have a website, because they were small places. I’m sure you can find them if you look in your local yellow pages
You can also try to find them if you drive around a little bit, but that’s probably not a reasonable option for you. I forget where they were though, because I am from Pennsylvania, and have only been to Des Plaines once to visit family. Also note that it was not called Jim’s canoes, but Jim’s Canoes and Boats. I went to both of those places when I visited my family in Cook County. I remember looking them up at O’Hare International Airport, soon after our plane landed there. I think it was in the yellow pages or something under a pay phone. They are both great little places, but Mountain Creek is way better, because there are more options of rentals, and you are allowed to fish off of the boats.

how to enter my own keywords for a google search? (to my website)?

Hi,

we own a small canoe & kayak rental business in iowa, and we just recently created a website.

but when i try to search for it on google entering keywords like "canoe rentals in iowa" or "kayak rentals in iowa" our site is nowhere to be found.

so what i am asking is, how can i enter my own keywords so that when someone is searching for "canoe rentals" our site will be on the search?

thanks in advance.

Raccoon River Retreats

Add keywords between the quotes in your meta tags. Your tags have no keywords. These keywords would go between the quotes after content, use commas to separate them….Nice site tho!
EDIT: these are what you currently have
<meta name="keywords" content="h">
<meta name="description" content="">
You could add whatever you want, for instance

<meta name="keywords" content="canoe rentals, kayaks, rental">
<meta name="description" content="canoe rentals in iowa">

You can put in as many keywords as you desire, the more the better
After adding keywords tho, you will need to give it time before the crawlers see it

Find All-around Perfection in New Smyrna Beach

While Florida may be home to some of the greatest theme parks in the world, it is also a state that draws visitors en masse to its pristine, natural beauty and soft sandy beaches. Away from the crowds that flock to Orlando and Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach invites you to enjoy the very best of the Sunshine State as you swim, surf, laugh, and play to your heart’s content.

As a coastal city that rests along the Eastern Seaboard, the standout attraction in New Smyrna Beach has to be its 13-mile stretch of white sand beaches. Soft to the touch and perfect for those days when all you want to do is throw down a towel and relax, you can escape the stress of daily life and enjoy everyone’s favorite activity in New Smyrna Beach—doing absolutely nothing at all. While you could conceivably spend your days simply working on your tan, the beaches are also the perfect jumping off point for numerous active pursuits, including surfing, swimming, shell collecting, and even treasure hunting.

If the beaches are a place to set your worries free, then the water is definitely the place to accommodate your sense of adventure and explore the great outdoors. While the Atlantic Ocean may seem like the logical choice for water-bound excursions, New Smyrna Beach is actually convenient to a variety of waterways and estuaries where you can find breathtaking views and scenery. All you need to do is grab a kayak or canoe rental and you can access a variety of secluded areas in search of beautiful birds, lush greenery, and a little exercise.

After working your arms in the kayak, participate in one of New Smyrna Beach’s less exhausting pastimes by renting a powerboat. Head out into the depths of the Atlantic for a fishing adventure with the family or grab your binoculars for some birding closer to the coastline. A boat rental is also a great way to get away from the people on the beaches and soak up some warm Florida sunshine with only the sound and sight of the water to disturb your thoughts. During your outbound adventure, you may even be privy to a close-up look at some dolphins and manatees passing through the water.

As warm weather reigns on New Smyrna Beach and residents and visitors alike flock to the sandy shore, take advantage of your supreme surroundings by hitting the links on a local course. Offering both 9- and 18-hole public courses throughout the area, you can squeeze in an afternoon of golf or you can spend a couple days polishing your game on a few of the more challenging fairways and greens. A couple of options that you might want to consider include the Turnbull Bay Golf Course and the Hidden Lakes Golf Club.

If golf isn’t your game, you can work on your backhand on the five hard-surface courts at Detwilder Park, the two hard courts at Pettis Park, or the six clay courts and one hard court at the Racquet Tennis Center. Exploring beyond New Smyrna Beach is also an excellent option if you can fit it into your schedule, and the one place that absolutely cannot be missed is Cape Canaveral. The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex should be at the top of any itinerary, while the Air Force Space and Missile Museum offers an excellent look at U.S. Air Force space launch activities.

Under the sun, on the water, or in the sand, New Smyrna Beach is a safe haven where rest, relaxation, and a carefree spirit take center stage. Escape from the ordinary on your next getaway and surround yourself with breathtaking views of the water, easy access to the sandy expanse, and all of the amenities of home in New Smyrna Beach vacation rentals. Always a convenient option and offering you the most comfortable accommodations you could possibly ask for, New Smyrna Beach rentals should be at the top of your list whenever you want the most enjoyable vacation possible.

Discover the Largest of All Florida’s Islands

Tiny Marco Island, four miles wide and six miles long, is still the largest of Florida’s Ten Thousand Islands. These stretch along southwestern Florida’s Gulf Coast, and they’re about the closest thing you’ll find to a tropical island getaway without leaving the continental US. The attraction of this island lies in its delightful climate, laid-back lifestyle, and easy access to nearby waterways. Come plan your own tropical getaway with a stay in Marco Island lodging. The best place to find it is at Rentalo.com. Among our listings, you’re sure to find the Marco Island vacation rental that will ensure a wonderful time.

Here along the alluring crescent-shaped beach, you can enjoy days awash with sunshine. Even in the winter, the temperatures around our hotels in Marco Island usually hover in the 70’s and 80’s. The water temperatures are pleasant, too, and you can enjoy all manner of water sports here. As the azure waters beckon you, you might head out for snorkeling or windsurfing. Numerous boat rentals and charters are available near our Marco Island rentals. You might try power boating or sailing, perhaps with dolphins cavorting alongside. Perhaps you’ll head out on a fishing cruise, either into the deep Gulf waters for trout, tarpon, or king mackerel, or into the many backwater areas for inshore fishing. Imagine fabulous fly-fishing within a mile or two of your Marco Island lodging and seeing not a soul. Then again, perhaps you’ll stay on the beach, soaking up the rays, and merely rousing yourself to do some shelling.

One of the main attractions of a stay in one of our Marco Island hotels is the proximity of acres and acres of wildlife preserves. Many of the surrounding mangrove islands are pristine and uninhabited. North of Marco Bay is the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Here you can enjoy hiking along the Trails Through Time, three short trails that enlighten you about the botanical species and ecosystems in this area. The premier way to visit this reserve, though, is by paddling through its estuaries in a canoe or kayak. Over 150 species of birds live here, including bald eagles, roseate spoonbills, and ospreys. You’ll want to spend at least an entire day here before retiring to your Marco Island vacation rental.
South of our Marco Island hotels lie even more areas of natural beauty. Florida’s 10,000 Islands, encompassing Collier-Seminole State Park and the 10,000 Islands National Wildlife Refuge, stretch all the way to the 5000 square miles of Everglades National Park. You can explore this region in a canoe or kayak, or aboard an airboat which will whisk you deep into the Everglades jungles.

Even when you stay close to our hotels in Marco Island, you can appreciate Mother Nature’s bounty. Lush foliage covers much of the island, and you can enjoy a bird watching hike. If you head into the downtown region, you can treat yourself to wonderfully fresh seafood or other island creations at one of the 90 first-rate restaurants.
However you spend your days in this verdant island getaway, you’ll enjoy them all the more when you spend your nights in one of the Marco Island rentals from Rentalo.com.

difference between canoe and kayak?

Which one is easier to learn? I’m going to camping and the rental place rents out both and I’m wondering which one to try. I’m going on paddling with my 10-yo son and I have no previous experience with boat paddling. I will be paddling in a small pond that connects out to different ponds. One of those many ponds in Adirondacks. The water is going to be quiet.

Thanks!

In a kayak, you have to learn to "roll." This involves being under water. There are BIG differences between canoe and kayak! a canoe and a kayak are two different kinds of boats (both use paddles, both are relatively small). a kayak is smaller and substantially easier to tip (get wet). most canoes can hold 1-4 people, most kayaks can hold 1-2 people. kayaks ride much lower to the water then canoes. both are a lot of fun. but if you’re in choppy water and don’t want to get wet, avoid the kayak. a kayak can really get going in the water and is usually used for sport. a canoe is more used for "lazily" being out on the water for fishing or some other activity.For what you are doing i would use a canoe, and share the paddle with your son.
