Vassar Street Kayakers enjoy the confused sea conditions on the Pacific Ocean during a gale warning. This was shot on December 2nd, 2007 off the San Mateo county coast on the San Francisco peninsula, California.

Not touchy, just an experienced kayaker myself, who used the same make of magnetic compass seen in the vid, and the difference is important. A gyro compass is not magnetic, nor can it be “little”. Hold and spin a bicycle wheel by its axle then try and tilt it. Won’t be easy. That is the principle of gyro compasses. Sorry bout the lecture, I love kayaks very much. §:-)

If there was a gale warning, we’d see spray off of the wave crests…

in order to allow the wind to show up in the video, you probably should have taken out the music and just used the sound that you recorder on that day, that way we could hear the wind blowing by the cameras microphone
